Memories & Candles
Jan, it seemed like yesterday when Mark Stein and I flew to Dallas and roomed together to be there in November of 1985 for the two of you. Losing touch through the years doesn't diminish the timelessness of the happiness of your union and offspring. He could not have been either happier or more successful. Not many could have done what he did as a non-native Texan. I hope the knowledge of that and God's grace continues to give you strength. Feel free to reach me at email@example.com...

It is with deep sadness that I only today learned of the death of Reggie Bashur. I first made Reggie's acquaintance while a member of the Texas Capital Press Corps in 1987. We became good friends, and to this day, I have always considered Reggie to be loyal friend and ally. While Reggie is no longer with us, his spirit and memory live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him. I count myself very

There is nothing we can say to adequately express the sorrow we feel at the loss of our Reggie. He has always been a child of my heart, but we know that our loss is truly God's gain.

Mrs. Bashur, I was honored to work on campaigns or in offices with Reggie in Austin. I think I shook the first time I met him, as his teddy bear heart sometimes hid behind a scowl. I eventually learned not to be afraid of him, but to learn from him. I admired him greatly, as did so many others who had the privilege of working with him. Now he's advising somebody, somewhere in heaven. I am so sorry for your loss.

We are all diminished by Reggie passing. He was respected and loved by many. He was a pleasure to work with and a joy to share moments of reflection. He maintained his good humor under all circumstances. He was flawless in his professionalism. Reggie was a good and trusted friend. Reggie loved his family, state and nation deeply. He was loved in return.
I regret we no longer have Reggie among us but I am comforted

Dear Jan and Family, you are in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. I am blessed to have known Reggie for 20-plus years. I have relied on his steady and wise counsel more times than I can count. We met on the gubernatorial in 1989 and, I must say, he scared me to death at first! He didn't talk if nothing needed to be said and he did not suffer fools! But, one quickly saw the heart of gold and learned
