Memories & Candles
When I was in the second grade Joel, Collin, and I were really good friends. I moved to Houston, and I got older, so I didn't really stay connected. My
Aunt and Uncle became Joel's neighbors and so I would see him occasionally. I always wanted to become friends with Joel again, but I never did. It doesn't make me miss him any less. I hope that wherever he is, he is still kind and silly.

Joel would occasionally come over to our home for sleep overs and just hang out. I remember Joel was a good friend to my son Justin Krainz when they were in 6-8th grade. Please know that your Joel was a polite and very kind young man! Unfortunately my son went to a different high school and they lost touch a bit over time.
I can not imagine your sorrow on the loss of your precious son Joel. I know you will miss your treasured sweetheart, his smile and tender heart will be missed!!

Dear Trish,
How can I say how sorry and how our hearts ache for you.
I am thinking of you always, especially tonight..
What a wonderful and amazing family you have brought into this world.
It is not how much a person loves but how much they are loved.
Joel was loved by many.

Most of my memories of Joel are from when we were both small. I remember loving to spend time with him when I would come hang out with Nick; I think I even irritated Nick at least once doing it. One memory that stands out in my mind is we had this game where I'd ask Joel to 'roar' then I would pretend to run away scared and Joel would laugh and laugh. He was such a cool and sweet kid.
I know he'll be deeply missed by a lot of people. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Trish - my heart breaks for you and your family, and for the sadness of the past few years. Your tribute to Joel is so beautifully done and captures the joy he brought to your lives. I hope those memories help carry you through the difficult days and months ahead.
All my prayers are with you -
